Tannery Industries Botswana (TIB) is a leather processing company based in Botswana. TIB produces finished leather by employing advanced and environmentally friendly techniques in its operations. A complete set of modern leather processing equipment and machinery allows versatile production of a wide variety and flexible volumes of leathers.

TIB operations are based on the use of bovine hides, goat, sheep and game skins, all of them being available in Botswana and the region.

Lobatse Retanning Plant
TIB has a factory on the eastern side of the existing wet-blue tannery where retanning activities are undertaken. Realising production processes can have adverse effect on the environment. TIB has installed a state-of-the-art effluent treatment plant at the retanning factory in order to process the production effluent before it is discharged into the municipal sewer line.

Phakalane Finishing Plant
The finishing plant receives wet crust leather from the retanning plant in Lobatse.  The major activities are drying, conditioning, upgrading and spray/roll application of water based finishes to provide the final physical/chemical properties of the leather.

Tannery Industries Botswana (TIB) was incorporated on the 10th December 2004 to establish and operate a leather processing business. Project implementation started in May 2005 and the business was officially opened on 26 April 2007. TIB was set up on joint venture partnership between two Batswana, two Bulgarians, CEDA Venture Capital Fund and Botswana Development Corporation.
