Farmers and food producers are the heart and soul of Kitchen Soko’s operation. The founders of Kitchen Soko are farmers and it came about as they were trying solve their own market access problems. Having experienced the current model of market access, where a farmer rarely directly interacts with the market and usually goes through a chain of brokers, retailers and wholesalers, they decided to start a platform that could address this. We didn't know how the final solution will look like but we were sure there is a gap to be filled.Our core principle is actually that - to put markets at the centre of all production, processing, product development and packaging. It will do this by 1) organizing local food producers into a single market space where they can connect with their customers, 2) ensure production, processing and packaging meet high market standards and good practices and 3) enable to farmer to focus on the latter as it handles market access and transactions on their behalf.Using one of the founders IT experience we decided to turn to technology not only to solve our market access issues, but in coming up with a solution all small farmers and food producers can use to access the market. Kitchen Soko handles logistics and guarantees quality to the consumer to deliver the highest quality food from farm to table.This way, customers can also continue to live their active lives, saving time for what really matters. We do know the challenge consumers face shopping for groceries, rarely getting fresh bread, meat from the butchery and vegetables from farmers markets (marikiti) and this is what also led to Kitchen Soko.We use our experience as farmers and direct relationships with local farmers and producers to drive superior quality in sourcing, then use technology to make it easier for you to shop and deliver those fresh products to your doors.
