An agri-dev't co designed to stimulate sustainable & socially responsible private sector agricultural investment operating from seed to shelf Afro-produces.Sydendavids Food Corp (SFC) is a new agricultural development company designed to stimulate sustainable and socially responsible private sector agricultural investment and agribusiness in Uganda, operating from seed to shelf, supplying food and industrial raw materials, i.e. Distributing processed and semi-processed agricultural produce, Working on the ground alongside local agricultural entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers, using a private sector approach to develop profitable agricultural businesses that integrate commercial and smallholder farmers into modern value chains.SFC will bring about a fundamental systemic reform in Uganda and poverty alleviation throughAgro-self-employment programsinparticular,sensitizingthepublicaboutthe need for agriculture, by mainstreaming the role of agri-businesses.Through purchase and supply of agricultural products, with governments, investors and international donors funding, SFC will create an enabling environment for farmers to positively influence and motivate them to produce significantly higher outcomes.Therefore, SFC has been designed to create ‘proof of concept’, capacity building and creating an enabling environment to facilitate and positively affect people to transit to agro-social-economic systems. Furthermore, SFC would make investments in developing a wide-range of partnerships with private and public agriculture development institutions for bringing in new agri-business ideas, innovations, services and delivery mechanisms.In order to achieve the projected development objectives of sustainable agriculture for the developing smallholder farmers, SFC would invest in institution and human capacity development, innovation and partnership and agriculture project implementation support systems. In addition, SFC would undertake additional investments in sustainable agriculture promotion across the country to create ‘proof of concept’ and demonstrate the feasibility and outcomes of agro-enterprise centered livelihood outcomes.
