Kartasi Industries owns and operates from a complex of offices and godowns on a 5-acre plot on Enterprise Road in Nairobi’s busy Industrial Area with adequate room for expansion.
Incorporated in 1972, the then small stationery manufacturing unit making only exercise books today produces under the Kartasi Brand a comprehensive range of products.
Among the products manufactured are account books, counter books and ledgers, analysis books, duplicate and triplicate books, computer stationery, loose leaf pads, note books and writing pads, graph pads and sketching pads, and other paper products.
In 1976 it acquired Afri International Limited, a company converting self-adhesive tape. A cellulose tape manufacturing plant, the first of its kind in East Africa, was purchased in 1979 which also makes packaging and other special tapes and duplicating stencils, Self-adhesive tapes and self adhesive labels under the Afri brand and Pegusus duplicating stencil.
The self-adhesive tapes, self-adhesive labels, computer stationery and certain other stationery can also be printed as per the customer’s requirements, and have wide application in packaging and marketing Kenya’s industrial and agricultural products including flowers and horticultural products for export.
More recently it took over the only manufacturing plant in Kenya for stapling pins, and manufactures K-Brand industrial staples for which TBC is the sole distributor. Other office and industrial products manufactured/converted are rubber bands, paper tubes/cores etc. A cheaper range of Africa-brand products was recently introduced into the market.
