In 1944, the Landbank Act No. 13/1944, as amended, provided the legal framework for regulating the business of the Bank. In 1991, by virtue of the Agricultural Bank Amendment Act No. 27, the name Land and Agricultural Bank of South West Africa was changed to the Agricultural Bank of Namibia. The Agricultural Bank of Namibia Act No. 5 of 2003 as amended, was promulgated in order to expand the scope of business to capitalize on opportunities in the market and transform the institution into a more versatile and responsive to all stakeholders in order to meet the demands of the ever-changing business environment.
