Art in Tanzania
Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Art in Tanzania is a non-governmental organization registered in Tanzania, Zanzibar, Finland and in Ethiopia as Art in Ethiopia. The organization started in 2001 supporting local artists who did not have the resources to develop their talent. Since then, the organization has grown and now runs more than 300 volunteering and internship placements in Tanzania along the record label, Mzuka records and Fiesta Magazine, a yearly magazine that targets Tanzanian youth.

Art in Tanzania welcomes volunteers and interns to participate in community projects and also organizes adventure programs such as safaris and Mount Kilimanjaro climbs. Art in Tanzania is part of the UNICEF Children Agenda Tanzania program and volunteers and interns are needed to assist us in the program management and implementation.

Art in Tanzania receives volunteers and interns from all over the world. There are volunteer and intern projects in the fields of Education, Adult education, Social work, Medical and Health, Social media, Arts & Music, Sports coaching, and HIV/AIDS awareness. Art in Tanzania has placements in Dar Es Salaam, Moshi in Kilimanjaro, Karatu and, Masai Land in N'gorongoro, Serengeti and in Zanzibar.

There are around 1,000 volunteers and interns arriving annually, and at any one time there are around 100 people in country. The supporting team includes 100 staff members, both expatriates and local staff. Fees paid by volunteers and interns fund the organization's long-term projects, which include the music and arts projects, the building of the Bagamoyo Youth Centre, Madale HIV/AIDS Clinic and a nursery and primary school in Masai Land.

You can also participate booking to our tourist safaris or Mt Kilimanjaro climb programs. By booking your trips through Art In Tanzania you will have the experience of a lifetime and you will provide funding to support the local Tanzania community.

We aim to promote the development of the most vulnerable communities in Tanzania though education, arts, health and environmental conservation programs, developing partnerships with local NGOs and with the support of international volunteers who help funding our programs while having a meaningful experience.
