The company was incorporated in April 1973 as West Africa Milk Company Nigeria PLC (WAMCO) and commenced operations in 1975. Friesland Foods WAMCO Nigeria PLC is a multinational manufacturing company: it is an affiliate of Royal Friesland Foods of The Netherlands, one of the world's largest dairy companies. Its headquarters is in the Ikeja industrial area of Lagos State and operates an extensive distribution network across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
