Engagi Safaris is a Ugandan-owned tour company with 14 years of experience designing memorable safaris across Africa. Founded in 2010 by Basiima Robert, who worked as a guide and driver for over five years, the company was built on a foundation of in-depth regional knowledge and a desire to deliver a higher standard of service for safari travelers. Today, Engagi Safaris is recognized for its expertly crafted, tailor-made itineraries that suit each client’s interests, schedule, and budget.

The word “Engagi” means “gorilla” in the Chiga language of Southwestern Uganda. Located near the renowned Virunga Mountains and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, our company has deep roots in gorilla country. Engagi Safaris offers custom gorilla trekking tours in Uganda Rwanda and Congo, using local expertise and a commitment to conservation to create authentic wildlife experiences. Mountain gorillas, the rarest living primates, survive only in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and the Virunga Conservation Area.
