Background
My name is Engineer Dante Piccolo Brunelli, and I'm the managing Director of Brunelli Construction Company Nigeria Limited, for the past 15 years , Brunelli construction, is a part of international group of companies and the main head office is in Milan, Northern Italy, we have been operating in Nigeria, Zambia and part of italy.

We operated about 33 years ago in South Africa, but left, due to political reasons from there we came to Nigeria. Brunelli was incorporated in July 1973 and since then, we have been operating from our base in Lagos. Precisely Orile Iganmu since 1979.

Having built the Orile Iganmu neighbourhood, the Ojora family, offered us where we are now. So, the corporate head office of Brunelli in Nigeria is located in Orile Iganmu, though we are planning to open office in Port Harcourt.

We've been in the country for the past 33 years, helping to develop this great country called Nigeria. We are mainly in road construction, pilling and foundation works, including specially all piles. Brunelli also has the ability to install diagram for pile jobs, we've done jetties like the one in oworonsoki, constructed some 10 years ago.

Also in our line of duty is the erection of shoreline protections and we have done many of such particularly in Ikoyi area. For the past 33 years, we've also been engaged in dredging activities and have done some particularly in Badagry canal, Lagos State, and other canals near university of Lagos.

In the area of roads, we have done some as well. Part of the roads we constructed, include Ibadan-Ifo road, constructed between 1974 and 1975, Oluti-Ibeju road in Ondo state. We have a sister company that is fully into construction, while we concentrate in our core business which is manly pilling and dredging.

We are also expert in water supply scheme and treatment plant. In 1979, we built a complete company to manufacture pre-cast poles and piles to suit Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), specification. At the moment, we are supplying poles to several states because our system manufactured one of the most advanced poles (span concrete poles and piles).

Prior to the 80's and early 90's when the economy was buoyant, we had so much demand from clients. The trend dropped because of the economic down turn. But with the upward trend in the economy, which has also increased rural electrification, our production from factory has gone from 5-10% to 45-55% utilisation.

Our staff are fully qualified engineers, which include Italians, Britons, Indians and a staff of about 150 Nigerians. About a couple of dozen of these staffs are qualified including mechanics, tradesman, foremen, carpenters and other industrial operations.

Our vision is to stay along and progress along with this country and we will never abandon our aim to develop this country, because we have a company that manufactures the raw material we need to execute a project.

We are not using tactics, but we are patient. If a job is available, we perform. We have not abandoned any job since operating in Nigeria so long as all parties abide by the rules. If any government or parastatal or individual need our services, they contact us. Cutting edge: I will say the quality of our job, the technicality that is involved in our cutting edge. This is because our job is a very specialized job. And our top management have fully qualified engineers. Infact, we are waiting for our Nigerian engineers to take over the management.
