Equatorial Healthcare Services (EHS or Equatorial) is a Ghanaian-American oriented Pharmaceutical/Chemical company founded in 1997 by a group of pharmaceutical scientists, trained both in Ghana and the United States. It is a dynamic, growing, science-based specialty pharmaceutical/chemical company that focuses on pharmaceutical products which are of relevance to the tropical world.
The company has a strong belief that there are several health related problems in the tropical world that could be best solved by the local people. However, this has not been possible due to lack of locally trained scientists in the pharmaceutical and medical fields.
Equatorial is a company run by a Board of Directors that is composed of well-known scientists and professionals.
Since malaria is a primary cause for morbidity in most Sub-Saharan African countries, the company has a major emphasis in the supply of products, that address both the preventive and curative aspects of the disease:
Repelling mosquitoes from biting the human target: Equatorial Body Guard®
Elimination of mosquitoes from living and sleeping areas: Equatorial Insect Blaster®
Treatment of the disease - malaria and associated symptoms: Equimol®, Equitrim® & Equimesin®
The company’s initial operations are mainly in Ghana, but its long -term objective is to target the entire West African regional market. It intends to be a market leader in the West African Sub-Saharan region. Equatorial is currently seeking marketing opportunities in neighboring and other countries in the tropical world.
