Providing quality ceiling insulation and roofing insulation services to homes in South African since 1984. Fit the original proven product - Thermguard.

Thermguard is the original Cellulose Fibre Insulation in South Africa. It is manufactured with over 30 years of product development and industry knowledge. Fit the original proven product.

Thermguard is made from 80% recycled newsprint in a low energy process, making it an extremely eco-friendly product. Preserve the planet with Thermguard.

Thermguard will prevent up to 91% of the heat generated in the home from escaping upwards through the ceiling in winter and will keep 88% of summer heat out as well.

Manufactured from recycled newsprint with harmless household additives to make the product fire retardant and insect and rodent resistant.

Thermguard Cellulose Fibre Insulation

With the installation of modern machinery from the U.S.A. Thermguard has been able to reduce the density of its insulation by 20%. This allows more air to be trapped between the fibres providing a lighter, less expensive product with superior insulation values. Thermguard is made from recycled materials, is 100% fire retardant, as well as insect and rodent resistant. These properties make Thermguard the perfect solution for your roofing insulation, ceiling insulation and general insulation requirements.

Low Cost Housing Insulation

THERMGUARD is especially effective as a low cost housing insulation solution. Generally, low cost housing is fairly crowded, and this leads to a lot of condensation being generated in the house, especially during the winter. Condensate forms on the underside of the roof and drips down onto the insulation below. Should a blanket type insulation that is not absorbent have been used, then the condensate will filter down through the insulation onto the ceiling and create unsightly black marks on the ceiling, which can be seen from below. Should the problem be severe, the insulation will remain damp and create a breeding ground for all sorts of unhealthy algae.

When using Thermguard, however, there will be less condensation forming on the underside of the roof (Thermguard gives 100% cover). Any condensate that does drip onto the insulation will immediately be absorbed into the top layer of the insulation as Thermguard is manufactured from recycled newsprint, which is highly absorbent.

The next day when the sun comes out and the roof space warms up, the drops of water will evaporate out of the Thermguard and the insulation will dry out. Hence Cellulose Fibre insulation is known as the “BREATHING” insulation.
