Almeda Textile is the biggest textile manufacturing company in the country. It has 100 million Birr sales volume. That is 70% sales volume in local market and 30% sales volume in global market. Almeda is bebefitting from complete new production lines imported from Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Japan that take up a total investment of US$ 94 million.

Apart from other alternatives, the factory is directly linked with the main seaport of Djibouti for import / export incidentals.

Weaving

The department is designed to produce different variety of fabric ranging from simple plain to complex design of fabric & the annual designed production Capacity is million meters of fabric.

Alongside the above machineries there e are also direct warping section warping & sizing machines which are capable feeding the looms.

The product types that can be produced in the department are;

1. Different types of plan fabric (sheeting, Shrting, Rib stop &canvas)

2. Different types of will (light to heavy twill & French twill)

3. Terry towel.

Garments

Garment department is currently producing different types of wearing apparels for the local & international market. The company has very flexible &brand new state-of-the art technology in its design & pattern making, make up, finishing, Embellishment & quality control units.

Currently, the factory has a total of 1543 sewing machines, about 95%age of them juki type of different varieties. The cutting unit with full size cutting table is strengthened by the design & pattern making unit, equipped with computer Aided design (CAD). The factory has also single ten head & one 4 head embroidery machine, a wishing facility and printing. The finishing unit has 118m/cs electrical & steam ironing equipment, and packing and other finishing devices. Almeda garment factory has now all the necessary technology for the production of different woven & kiting garment including, jeans, shirt, trouser, T- shirt, jacket , dresses, blouses, work wear, military wears & other fashionable clothes.
