Kenya’s largest Trade company dealing with Agro commodity products. Over time, Mjengo Limited grew into one of Kenya’s largest Trading Companies dealing with Agro Commodity products and further added on Distribution lines from locally manufactured goods.
Mjengo Limited was established in 1991 with the intention to wholesale in building materials. It soon saw more potential and diversified to trading in commodities. The promoter of the company is Mr. Raj Chuni Malde who is a second generation entrepreneur with an in-depth business exposure. The organisation has since become East Africa’s leading manufacturer.
Over time, Mjengo Limited grew into one of Kenya’s largest Trading Companies dealing with Agro Commodity products and further added on Distribution lines from locally manufactured Goods. With the onset of margin depletion in the trading business and less profitability, the Company restructured its entire Business plan for sustainable business growth from 2001. More focus was given on Distribution and Development of it’s own Branded Products. It was then that the “Daawat” Rice Business was established. It had also established a branch in Uganda.
Daawat
Over the Years, with extended Brand focus, marketing, and distribution, it’s “Malbros Daawat” Brand has grown to become one of East Africa’s leading Rice Brand, and has since been awarded the “Superbrands” certification 2009/2011 as the only distinguished Rice Brand in it’s category.
Nuvita
In 2009, it subsequently set up a European Technology state of art Manufacturing Plant for Biscuits. It’s Biscuit Brand “NuVita” today boasts of approximately 18% market share in Kenya and looks onto expanding its distribution to the Region in due course. The Company is also an Exclusive distributor for “Dabur” range of Personal Care Products in Kenya.
The Company is proud to be considered as one of the leading companies in Kenya, which delivers, enhanced brands and services to the end consumers through effective distribution across all channels. It employs approximately 400 + Kenyans directly and indirectly with a dedicated talent pool of expatriates.
Mjengo Limited is located in Thika at L.R. No. 4953/1412, measuring 5 acres with built up warehouses and offices measuring 67,500 sq.ft. It also has an additional storage facility of 12,50sq.ft. on L.R. No. 4953/1176.
