Africa Fuels & Lubricants LTD (AFAL) was incorporated in Kenya in 2011 to pursue oil and gas opportunities in the African continent. The company is owned by UAE-based Tristar Group who are in the oil and gas logistics business in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the Far East and Central America, and employing 1,500 people of various nationalities. 

Africa Fuels & Lubricants LTD (AFAL) has signed a distribution agreement with Chevron Lubricants, owner and producer of Chevron, Texaco and Caltex-branded lubricants and one of the global leaders in fuel and fuel additive technology. The agreement gives AFAL authorized distributor status for lubricants under the Caltex brand. AFAL will now be the authorized distributor of Caltex products including the Delo and Havoline brands, as well as industrial lubricants in Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

AFAL has signed a distribution agreement with Chevron Lubricants, which is the leading manufacturer of premium base oils and one of the world’s largest suppliers of finished lubricants. Chevron finished lubricant products are marketed through the world-class master brand Caltex in the Middle East and Africa region.

Caltex has over 75 years of experience in manufacturing finished lubricants with premium base oils to deliver excellent, reliable performance in a wide range of operating conditions. AFAL is the sole authorized distributor of Caltex products including the Delo and Havoline brands, as well as industrial lubricants in Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

The parent company’s lubricant warehousing and distribution division offers AFAL customers the opportunity of an end-to-end supply chain service for their lubricant marketing business. Its warehouses in the UAE are equipped to the highest industry safety standards and the staff are trained with the right technical skills to ensure that service levels are also of the highest standards across the value chain.

The announcement was made during a launch ceremony held at the Nairobi National Museum on Tuesday, October 2, in the presence of Assistant Minister for Trade Honorable Manson Nyamweya, Assistant Minister of the Office of the Prime Minister Honorable John Mbadi, Chief Executive Officer of AFAL Eugene Mayne; General Manager of Chevron Lubricants in Africa, Middle East, and Pakistan Trevor Stallbom; and other industry leaders and dignitaries. 
 
"Today's vibrant economy in Kenya is creating a rapidly growing demand for petroleum products in the consumer, commercial and industrial sectors," said Mr. Mayne of AFAL. "Our immediate mission is straightforward and that is to position Caltex as the lubricant brand of choice in East Africa. Towards this end we will be committed to delivering leading edge lubricant products combined with safe, reliable and superb service."
