For more than a decade ASI has provided support to Governments, state-owned enterprises, regulators and banks across East Africa. Our expertise has been applied towards addressing diverse government and economic reform challenges including centre of government capacity building, public service reform, private sector development, reform of public utilities and regulatory capacity building.
In July 2007, ASI's first African subsidiary business was incorporated in Kenya. Based in Nairobi, ASI Africa, operates across the region and has supported our programme of work in establishing the Office of the Prime Minister in Kenya, and has provided technical assistance for the Government of Southern Sudan in public sector reform both at the centre of government and at state level. Our permanent presence means that we are well equipped to respond effectively to the challenges facing the region in order to bring about sustainable change.
We have an international reputation for providing authoritative technical expertise and for being pragmatic and committed to getting things done, often in the most difficult circumstances. We have a long-established reputation and extensive experience of delivering development projects that work, and contribute to sustainable outcomes.
The projects we have undertaken are wide ranging and include good governance, civil service reform, institutional capacity building, decentralisation, economic reform, and educational and social development.
Key to the way we work is the combination of our consultants’ world-class technical expertise with the exceptional project management and coordination skills of our core group of full time staff supported by a strong administration team. We ensure sustainable outcomes by putting a strong emphasis on the need to work in full partnership with our counterparts. This has enabled us to establish a strong reputation as trusted advisers who work hard to understand local needs and practices, to tailor international experience to the local environment and to build the ownership needed to achieve lasting change.
