TEM was able to invest in a brand new multi-million Kwacha building and factory complex. Situated at the Chirimba Industrial Site in Blantyre off chileka road , this brand new state of the art complex completed in April 2010 is worth 900 million Kwacha, and has become a prominent landmark building in Malawi.
The new building complex comprises of the following: Spacious trailer production line A trailer and body repair section A Coach and Bus body production line A panel beating section for heavy vehicles only A repair and refurbishing section An upholstery and carpentry shop A paint shop A mini factory to produce components for the production line A staff canteen MAN and VW TRUCK AND BUS Service garage MAN , VW and Trailer parts Sales Section MAN and VW Spacious show room
It is here, at the new TEM Factory complex, that Malawi's very first low gravity 40,000 litres Integral Fuel Tanker was made, with over 20 more currently on order. This is just one of the developments that TEM is pioneering to move Malawi away from a predominantly importing nation to one that exports.
Currently TEM is working on a project to expand production of Armoured Cash in Transit Vehicles for the Banks and Military troop carriers for sale in Malawi and the COMESA region. Furthermore as authorised dealers for MAN and VW Trucks and Buses, MAN at the moment are considering the possibility of working together with TEM in installing an assembly line for buses and coaches for sale in the SADC region and in Malawi. If the deal succeeds, this will be a huge boost to the Malawian job market and economy.
TEM has been and will continue to be the pioneer and Industry Leader in this sector in Malawi and the Southern African region - whilst contributing to the country's socio and economic development. The investment and development of the new TEM factory and sales complex in Blantyre, is a symbol of our commitment to Malawi and our confidence in the Malawi economy. It is a landmark that symbolises a new beginning for TEM and many more years of service excellence and product development.
