Frigoglass Nigeria operations started in Benin and Jos in 1988. The core business of the company's plastics division is the production of plastic crates for the bevergae industry, as well as the recycling of old crates. The company also manufactures glass containers and metal crows.

The company began operating in 1982 as the industrial division of the Hellenic Bottling Company, with one commercial refrigeration plant in Greece. In the beginning, Frigoglass consisted of five companies: two producing Ice Cold Merchandisers; two producing plastics and one company metal crowns.
