True African is a Value Added Services Provider, a Communications and Information Technology company in Uganda and Kenya. As an information services provider (VASP), True African maintains a range of information categories that it provides to the mass market mainly through partnerships with mobile telecommunications companies. In Uganda, our most popular information service is SMS Info, available on 197 for MTN, UTL and CELTEL. The content delivered over 197 includes news, sports, monophonic ringtones and operator logos. True African also recently launched MMS content accessible through 297. The MMS content is temporarily only available on MTN.

Other networks are in advanced stages of upgrading their networks to support MMS delivery. With SMS Info, a subscriber is required to send a keyword, e.g. Forex, to the short code 197 to retrieve up-to-date information about the same. Also included in SMS Info bouquet are Ringtones & Logos. As a communication services provider, True African offers both personal and group communication solutions to businesses and final consumers. True African Web SMS, a free SMS sending facility on our website, www.trueafrican.com is without doubt a leading personal communication tool among Ugandans, both in and out of Uganda.

Our Bulk SMS package, which allows an individual or business to instantly send or schedule SMS to a large number of recipients, is our most used group communication service. From a business user perspective, it is mainly utilized for purposes of SMS marketing and as a cost effective means of providing service notifications.
