Imo Online is a youth entrepreneurship development program sponsored by the US Embassy, Abuja, Nigeria.

The program was established in 2003 to provide information technology training, business development services, and mentoring for youths and the civil society as an independent, self-sustainable programe.

To realize these objectives the program, in 2003, in partnership with the United States Government through its Nigerian-American Information Initiative (NAII), Government of Imo State, Nigeria, and Alvan Ikoku College of Education (AICE), Owerri developed a job training center, located inside Alvan Ikoku College of Education fully equipped with 40 computers, Internet connectivity, and multimedia training tools tasked with providing youth and the civil society with:

  • Job & Skill Training
  • Job Placement
  • Information Technology Training
  • Career Mentoring
  • Business Development Services
  • Internet Access
  • Youth leadership and good governance training

The center trained and graduated over Five Thousand (5,000) youth before it was wound down in 2011, when the college needed the accommodation back due to their expanded student in-take.

However, Imoonline Program  had managed to continue to forge ahead on its own providing support and mentoring for our alumni who are mostly doing well in their various careers after graduating from the center.

In 2012 Imoonline continued the mentoring and literary development of the African youth by establishing the children's Book Club at Owerri Imo state, Nigeria with donated books and materials by the founder, Mr Godwin C Nwaogwugwu, providing a free library and after-school programs for under-privileged children. In addition, we also embarked on this worthwhile project of documenting African culture, traditions and bedtime stories, which received a large ovation and applause from African parents around the world. We intend to keep publishing these works in series, as well as animate these stories in video and streaming formats for television viewing.

Please support us and let us know how you can partner or collaborate with us to make any of our projects a success.
