Since its beginnings in 1958, Paints and Chemical Industries (PACHIN) has been a pioneer in the Egyptian paint and coatings industry. Its core business is the production of various types of architectural and decorative coatings, industrial paints, printing inks and alkyd resins.

In 2012 PACHIN reported revenue of $138.6 m. Of this, 85 percent of sales are in architectural/decorative; 6 percent in industrial paints; 6 percent in printing inks and 3 percent in alkyd resin. PACHIN maintains a strategic alliance with the AkzoNobel in which PACHIN is licensed to manufacture and sell various products on behalf of AkzoNobel under the Dulux trademark.

Recently PACHIN concluded an agreement to be the sole distributor of Chugoku Marine Paints in Egypt. PACHIN also has a strategic alliance with NovaColor, a leading Italian manufacturer of decorative products.
